As part of the terms and conditions of the FRONTÓN KING, each participant, freely and voluntarily, upon completing registration on the event's official website, is DECLARING, CONSENTING AND ACCEPTING the following.
That they have been informed of, and accept, the rules, regulations and other conditions required for participation in the championship, and specifically, that the event may be postponed, rescheduled, or suspended once started, if due to unforeseen and external causes the organization deems it necessary and/or appropriate. The participant accepts that their registration form is strictly personal and non-transferable, and that it will remain valid and effective for the newly announced dates. Therefore, they understand that no refund of the registration fee or other amounts, compensation or expenses may be claimed if, for justified reasons, the organization adopts measures that imply postponement, suspension, or modification of the dates initially set for the championship.
That they will strictly observe the rules and instructions issued by the organization at all times, respecting the schedules, planning, and activities established with the event's staff, authorities, promoters, and sponsors.
That they are aware of the potential risks to physical integrity, and even life, inherent to practicing a sport such as bodyboarding, particularly at such a powerful and demanding wave as El Frontón (Gáldar, Gran Canaria). They declare their awareness that these risks may be influenced by maneuvers performed, sea conditions, technical skills, state of health, physical condition, and personal experience, and that they accept the consequences.
That they meet the necessary physical and health conditions for this sporting activity, without medical problems that would advise against participation.
That their participation is fully voluntary, assuming all risks, dangers — foreseen or unforeseen — and adverse consequences that may arise to their person or property through participation in this championship. They understand and accept that such risks, dangers, and negative consequences may occur due to natural causes, inherent to the sporting activity and environment, as well as due to the actions or omissions of other people attending or participating in the event.
That they are aware of and accept the risk inherent in participating in the Frontón King bodyboard championship, and that, apart from the safety measures implemented by the organization and authorities, they will adopt the necessary precautions and safeguards for themselves and with respect to other participants, event staff, sponsors, media, public authorities, medical and emergency personnel, and spectators.
That they acknowledge and accept that it is their sole responsibility to review and ensure the good condition and quality of the equipment with which they compete.
That, apart from the obligations and responsibilities of the organization to ensure compliance with safety standards and preventive measures in an event of this nature, they understand that each participant is responsible for any personal and/or material damages they may cause to third parties during the championship, whether through intent, fault, or negligence.
Helmets are mandatory for participants in the Junior category. The organization will provide approved helmets for the Junior category, which must be worn in all heats. Participants may use their own helmet provided it is certified.
In the Men's and other adult categories, helmet use is strongly recommended, although not mandatory. The organization will make approved helmets available to adult participants who wish to use them. Such helmets may not display advertising unrelated to the Frontón King.
That they accept that the essential obligations of the organizer cannot be considered unfulfilled, and therefore no payment, compensation, or refund of registration fees or other expenses may be demanded if the organization adopts measures or makes decisions to preserve the health of participants, staff, and attendees.
That the participant accepts that any breach of the protocol, recommendations, instructions, or orders issued by the organization in relation to safety measures may result in exclusion or disqualification.
Cash prizes are subject to the withholding system established by Royal Decree 439/2007, of March 30, approving the Regulation of the Spanish Personal Income Tax. Furthermore, it is established that payment of prizes will be made by bank transfer to the account details provided by the participant, with SWIFT expenses shared. If incorrect bank details are provided, any costs arising from returned and new transfers will be borne by the competitor and deducted from the prize amount. Prizes will be paid by bank transfer once the promoter has received sponsorship funds.
That the participant accepts that the event dates are provisional and, therefore, the announced competition calendar is subject to modifications, postponements, or cancellations if, due to unforeseen and external causes, the organization deems it necessary and/or appropriate. The participant accepts that their registration form will remain valid and effective for the newly announced dates. Therefore, they understand that no refund of the registration fee or other amounts, compensation, or expenses may be claimed if, for justified reasons, the organization adopts measures that imply postponement, suspension, or modification of the dates initially set for the championship.
Participants under the age of 18 must provide express and written authorization from a parent or legal guardian in order to compete.
The legal guardian assumes full legal, financial, and safety responsibility for the minor during the event, releasing the organization from any additional liability beyond the safety measures implemented in the championship.
The minimum number of registered participants per category for it to be held is 8. Both the Junior and Men's categories will have limited places. Junior participants wishing to compete in the Men's category may register, but as places are limited, priority will be given to Men's category registrants. This rule will only change if the Junior rider has a ranking in the Men's division from previous I.B.C. World Tour events. If places remain available, they will be assigned to the other Juniors in order of registration.
The participant acknowledges and accepts that all media content generated during the championship (photographs, videos, audio recordings, live or recorded broadcasts, audiovisual productions, interviews, etc.) will be the exclusive property of the Frontón King organization.
By registering, the participant grants the organization, sponsors, and collaborators a free, unlimited, irrevocable, and non-exclusive authorization to capture, reproduce, publicly communicate, distribute, and transform their image and voice, for informational, promotional, and advertising purposes directly or indirectly related to the event and its sponsors, without entitlement to financial compensation.
In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection and Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), participants are informed that their personal data will be processed by the Frontón King organizing entity, as data controller, for the purpose of managing registration, participation, communication of activities, and obligations arising from the championship.
Participants may exercise their rights of access, rectification, deletion, opposition, portability, and restriction at any time by contacting the organization in writing at the official address indicated on the event website.
These terms and conditions are governed by Spanish law. For any disputes arising from participation in the championship, the parties expressly submit to the Courts and Tribunals of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, without prejudice to any other jurisdiction legally applicable.
