Requirements

What you need to compete

1. 01Membership or federationInternational riders need an active 2026 IBC Tour membership. Canarian riders must be registered with the Federación Canaria de Surf.
2. 02HelmetMandatory in the Junior category: the organization provides approved helmets and they must be worn in all heats. In the Men's and other adult categories it is strongly recommended, and approved helmets are available too.
3. 03Registration and feeComplete the official registration and pay the entry fee before the deadline.
4. 04Places and minimumsEach category needs a minimum of 8 registered riders to run. Junior and Men's have limited places: a Junior may enter Men's, but Men's registrants have priority — unless the Junior holds a Men's ranking from previous IBC World Tour events.
5. 05Under 18sExpress written authorization from a parent or legal guardian is required. The guardian assumes full legal, financial and safety responsibility for the minor during the event.
6. 06Mandatory check-inOn-site check-in and technical briefing on 15 October. Missing it can cost you your place in the draw.
7. 07InsuranceNot required to compete: while you are competing you are covered by the event's accident and public-liability insurance. That cover applies during official competition only, so your own policy is strongly recommended for the rest of the time — free surfs, warm-ups and travel.
8. 08Rules and respectBy entering you agree to follow the rules and codes of conduct in the IBC Rulebook and the Frontón King regulations, with respect for the environment and the Gáldar community.
